I'm no poet laureate
My ideas rarely get out of bed
My imagination has a reaction
But alas! A distraction!
And the feckers have slipped out of my head!
I'm no connoisseur with words
But dream one day that I might
Pick up on a gem
With my paper and pen
But for now it all just whittles down to sh—
--Shooting stars and sunsets
Never look as beautiful on a page
And of hearts with holes
And bleeding souls
I'm too forgetful to withhold such rage
I'm terrible at expressing emotion
I'm not one to pour over regrets
But I like what I write
Even though I don't quite
Have the makings of a poet laureate

Eh, it's nadda very goooood, but it's a nice change
I love writing- short stories, observations, imaginings, that kind of stuff- but I've always found poetry difficult. It's not the inspiration I usually have trouble with, it's the binding together of every line in a fluid motion that usually gets me :/
The last line is kind of a dig at a pompous old English teacher I had when I was a lot younger. Not like I'm bitter or anything! *awkwardness* XD
